We worked hard and saved
All those coins-pennies, nickels, clink!,
Dimes, clunk!, and quarters.
Our kids said we fed them
Beans and rice..
Accumulated metallic wealth
Which gave us a pretty fixer upper
Located in the heart of Las Cruces.
Coins, coins, coins,
Work, work, work, gave us
«La Hectarea»,
Two acres of rustic land in the Malpais,
Lava covered land, in my hometown
In our Motherland ehre
Forty six hearts are welcome
To come and breath-in the rugged beauty
That feeds dreams..
